Pittsburgh Robotics Discovery Day Code of Conduct

Purpose and Commitment Pittsburgh Robotics Network (PRN) is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants at Pittsburgh Robotics Discovery Day. We are dedicated to ensuring that our event is free from harassment, discrimination, and any behavior that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome.

Inclusivity Statement Pittsburgh Robotics Discovery Day is open to everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, veteran status, socioeconomic status, immigration status, country of origin, or criminal record. All attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that fosters a respectful, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere.

Prohibited Conduct We do not tolerate any form of harassment or inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to:

  • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
  • Viewing or displaying sexual images in public areas.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or unwanted photography or recording.
  • Disruptive behavior, such as interrupting presentations or activities.
  • Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Irresponsible consumption of alcohol.

If you are asked to stop any inappropriate behavior, you are expected to comply immediately. Failure to do so may result in action by event organizers, including a warning or expulsion from the event without a refund.

Reporting Incidents If you feel unsafe or unwelcome, or witness any form of harassment or inappropriate conduct, please report it to event staff immediately. Event staff will be identifiable by special badges and are trained to handle these situations with care and confidentiality.
You may report incidents in person or anonymously. While anonymous reports limit our ability to follow up with you directly, we will thoroughly investigate all reports and take necessary actions to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

Support and Assistance Event staff are available to help participants contact security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or offer any assistance needed to ensure your safety and comfort during the event. We are here to support you and value your participation.

Scope of the Code of Conduct This Code of Conduct applies to all event attendees, guests, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, staff, and volunteers, whether attending in person or participating virtually. You are responsible for your own conduct and the conduct of your guests.

Conduct for PRN Representatives If you are representing PRN in any capacity (e.g., as an ambassador, presenter, speaker, volunteer, or staff), you are expected to act in a manner that reflects positively on PRN. Irresponsible behavior, including the misuse of alcohol, is strictly prohibited.

Thank You Thank you for helping to make Pittsburgh Robotics Discovery Day a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable event for everyone!
