Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our hardware engineering team. This role involves the design, analysis, testing, and production support of industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience and a strong background in product development. This position is based primarily at our Airside Business Park facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts from concept through production, ensuring technical requirements are met.
- Perform research and development to support new product initiatives and improve existing products.
- Execute engineering calculations and maintain detailed development documentation.
- Apply DFM principles, generate fabrication drawings, and coordinate with vendors.
- Develop build and assembly documentation; support technicians during builds and track as-built deviations.
- Serve as hardware technical lead on projects, managing technical direction, schedules, JIRA task tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
- Provide technical oversight of small teams of engineers on larger projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to department SOPs.
- Estimate project effort, cost, and timelines.
- Balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Travel up to 10% annually to support projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Robotics Engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM, and Simulation.
- Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to create robust CAD models and follow best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Robotics Engineering.
- Experience working on government contracts.
- Experience directly managing other mechanical engineering associates
