EKTO VR is looking for top talent to lead our electrical engineering efforts. We
need someone who can take the electronics of our EKTO DK1, iterate to make
the next generation, and then help us make our full-fledged product (and the
next one and the next one).
Technical
- Develop embedded electronics for motor control, power management, radio
- Rapidly iterate for internal R&D, testing, and demos as well as for external stakeholders
- Produce development kits for partners and customers
- Transition designs from prototype to fully integrated product
- Design test equipment for internal / factory validation
Management
- Own projects from start to finish: project planning, design, prototyping,
iteration, validation, certification, and deployment - Establish best practices, standards, and processes
- Support demos and deployments
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including understanding and establishing requirements, leading and participating in design reviews, and running and supporting testing
- Manage electrical design prototype and production supply chain
Solid foundation in each of the following:
- Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related technical field
- Electrical CAD (i.e. Altium or similar)
- Board assembly (i.e. soldering iron, reflow oven, pick and place)
- Testing tools (i.e. oscilloscope, programmable power supply, logic analyzer)
- Off-the-shelf microprocessor modules for prototyping (i.e. Teensy or similar)
- Best practices for PCB design (i.e. multi-layer, ground planes, shielding, impedance matching)
- Cable harness design and assembly
- Electronics debugging skills
- Electrical engineering data configuration management and version control
- Capable of performing technician role in low volume
Specialization in some of the following:
- Brushed and brushless motor control
- 2.4GHz radio modules
- Integrating microprocessors into PCBs for production (i.e. ARM Cortex or similar)
- Digital control systems
- Certifying electronics (i.e. with the FCC and UL)
- Flex and rigid flex circuits
- Test equipment development
- Validation and verification testing
- Product Data Management (PDM)
- Battery pack design
