GATES & HILLMAN CENTERS, 6TH FLOOR
Whether you are looking for career opportunities, or wanting to learn more about the robotics industry in Pittsburgh, we invite you to attend! You will have the opportunity to meet companies who are feeding the world (agriculture), going to the moon (aerospace), driving hands-free (autonomous vehicles), working in retail (collaborative robots), filling online orders (logistics robots)…and more!
Companies

Caterpillar
Caterpillar has been part of the Pittsburgh technology community for over 30 years. The newly renovated Caterpillar Pittsburgh Automation Center, located in Robotics Row, is an innovation hub.
In just nine years trucks equipped with Caterpillar’s autonomous solutions have hauled over 5 billion tonnes of material nearly 200 million kilometers.
In addition to haul trucks, we have water trucks and drills, and we also have assets like dozers, wheel loaders, and compactors that can be operated remotely from thousands of miles away. For example, one team member can operate up to five dozers at the same time from a remote location thousands of miles away. And it started in Pittsburgh!

Near Earth Autonomy
Near Earth Autonomy is building the future of flight! We bridge the gap between aerospace and robotics with complete systems that improve efficiency, performance, and safety for aircraft ranging from small drones to full-size helicopters. Through remote inspection, we can look closely at high-value assets while minimizing downtime. Through advanced mobility, we enable the delivery of needed supplies where current aviation procedures carry significant risk. In these innovations, we seek a firm role in building a safer, more connected world.

Locomation AI
Locomation was founded in 2018 by a team of the world’s foremost experts on autonomous vehicles, robotics, and artificial intelligence from Carnegie Mellon’s National Robotics Engineering Center and trucking industry leaders with deep knowledge and experience in every aspect of the trucking business.
We began our journey with middle mile freight automation, the most critical link in the supply chain and the one best suited to integrate human-guided autonomous technology. We’re creating capacity in a world that’s demanding more, faster every day. And from here, we plan to go everywhere autonomous transportation is needed.

Phlux Technologies
Phlux is a robot safety company that is helping humans and robots work together more effectively by making human/robot interactions simpler, safer, and more efficient. Initially targeting collaborative robotics applications in industrial automation, their patented 3D safety sensors replace decades-old 2D technology and enable factories to not only improve safety but also shrink the size of their robot cells and increase the production of their facilities.

RedZone Robotics
Established in 1987, RedZone Robotics has a rich history of robotic innovation. From Chernobyl to 9 Mile Point, and later, Ontario Hydro and Argonne National Laboratory, RedZone established itself as a pioneer in the field of robotics. In 2003, the company pivoted to focus exclusively on wastewater and began work with the City of Pittsburgh to develop a tool for the inspection of large-diameter pipe. As a result, Responder was developed and is still in use by our inspection crews today.
RedZone has continued its history of research and development providing customers with comprehensive asset data including high-resolution 4k video and interactive 3D models. We design with customers in mind.

Sarcos Robotics
Voaige is a year old artificial general intelligence research startup based out of CMU working towards making robotic arms smarter and easier to work with. We have a strong and long term focus on building an AI perception and control stack for robotic manipulation systems that is re-programmable on-the-fly by a non-technical person. It is our belief that to approach AGI, AI systems need to be re-programmable on the fly. This is true for all biological intelligence.
Job Positions:
Robotics System Engineer
Perception Engineer
UX Designer and Engineer
Full Stack Software Engineer
Business Developer
